Enhancing Defence Support with 3D Printing
In partnership with The Digital Manufacturing Centre (DMC), we are working with the UK MoD on a project exploring the potential of 3D printing to enhance support for the UK Armed Forces. The project, known as TAMPA, aims to improve the availability and reliability of military equipment through bringing additive manufacturing into the Defence supply chain.
What is Additive Manufacturing?
Additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing, is a computer-controlled process which involves the layering of materials to create 3D objects. NP Aerospace offers in-house 3D printing, an internal capability that offers many benefits to our customers, most notably the ability to produce quality essential parts at speed.
Meeting Operational and Obsolescence Demands
3D printing for vehicles allows us to help our customers meet operational demand and assists with obsolescence management of vehicles. As demand continues to grow, this is a specialist method of production we are investing more time in, one that can also be applied to meet the demands of other industry sectors.
