Our extensive engineering capabilities and collaborative Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) approach to military vehicle integration allows us to integrate complex survivability, electronic and mission critical systems to meet customer specific requirements.
NP Aerospace use agile and efficient vehicle integration processes working with many different OEM partners, always prioritizing advanced technology, readily available components where possible and a proven supply chain. Below are some examples of OEM partners we are currently collaborating with.
Air Defence
NP Aerospace is one of the key partners on the UK MOD’s Laser Directed Energy Weapon Land Demonstrator programme, working with Raytheon UK to progress integration of Raytheon’s High-Energy Laser Weapon System (HELWS) onto the Wolfhound vehicle. Wolfhound belongs to the UK MoD’s protected mobility fleet, managed by NP Aerospace.
NP Aerospace has been working closely with Raytheon UK to design and develop a wide range of integration hardware and interfaces to enable the HELWS to operate effectively from the Wolfhound platform.
Slimline Integration Capability Kit
XC spiral development shown at DVD 2024 featured a new Slimline Integration Capability Kit. This included an upgraded stowage solution to reduce platform width and weight and a new modular powerpack for improved operational performance and reduced through life costs. New glazing, digital mirror systems and bumper designs add further aesthetics and capability benefits.
In order to highlight NP Aerospace’s system integration capabilities, the Ridgback XC was fitted with the RIwP turret system from MOOG and the UltraEAK Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) system from Ultra PCS.
Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA)
The UltraEAK GVA system from Ultra PCS, was integrated onto the upgraded version of the Ridgback to showcase the benefits of integrating data from other vehicle systems to a single common architecture. UltraEAK is composed of a data network “ring”, smart power distribution and Platform Gateway Interface (PGI) software and offers a universal approach to centralized command systems.
Counter UAS
The NP Aerospace Team have also been working with Leonardo to integrate the Falcon Shield CUAS concept, on an upgraded Mastiff, British Army protected patrol vehicle. Falcon Shield is a rapidly deployable and scalable solution designed to tackle the threats posed by low, highly manoeuvrable, and small uncrewed aerial systems (UAS).
