NP Aerospace Achieves Gold Status for Commitment to the Defence Community

The team at NP Aerospace attended a prestigious West Midlands RFCA event this month to be presented with the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme (AFC ERS) Gold Award.

The Employer Recognition Scheme encourages employers to support the defence community and inspire other organisations to do the same. The Gold Award recognises companies that demonstrate or advocate support to the armed forces community and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

Jane Ashmore, NP Aerospace HR Director, along with Army Reservist and ILS Engineer Nathan Persaud and Recruitment Manager Jay Simms, a former UK Ministry of Defence employee, attended the event, joining 14 other AFC ERS gold winners from across the West Midlands.

In 2022 NP Aerospace was awarded the ERS Silver Award, for demonstrating that the company champions and values the Armed Forces through employment of veterans, adult cadets and forces families and through support for veteran charities and organisations. Two years on, NP Aerospace has further demonstrated advocacy for those who serve, through recruitment practices, supply chain processes, branding and marketing, events and HR policies, achieving gold status.

Army Reservist and former REME veteran Nathan Persaud was appointed in September 2023 and has been invaluable in sharing his positive military to civilian transition experience, going above and beyond to connect with others looking to transition.

On achieving the ERS Gold Award, NP Aerospace HR Director, Jane Ashmore, said: “NP Aerospace is proud to support those who serve and we are honoured to receive this acknowledgment from the UK government. This award demonstrates our dedication to supporting those coming out of the armed forces and their families. We truly value the contribution and insight from former military personnel and reservists.”

NP Aerospace Recruitment Manager, Jay Simms, commented: “This prestigious recognition demonstrates our commitment to providing a welcoming environment for military personnel transitioning into civilian roles. We recognise the exceptional talent and dedication of these individuals and are determined to grow our internal defence community.”

Nathan Persaud, Army Reservist and NP Aerospace ILS Engineer, said:“I have received continued support from NP Aerospace both in my transition from regular military service and during my ongoing service in the army reserves. This award recognises the unwavering support both current and ex-service members receive daily within our company.”

The company has a strong internal defence community of over 25 employees from engineers and project managers through to Board Directors and supports veteran charities such as Team Forces with various fundraising campaigns for Support our Paras and the Felix Fund over the past few years.
